Lagavulin
One of the oldest distilleries on Islay (Pronounced Eye-la) Legally founded in 1816 by a farmer named John Johnston.Lagavulin – Pronounced Laga-voolin after the Gaelic Laggan Mhouillin, “the hollow where the mill is.”
Utilizing a unique pear shaped copper pot still to give Lagavulin its unmistakable smooth, smoky and robust flavour.
Flavour Profile
Nose: Burnt vanilla, pineapple and deep woody notes, orange zest, butter, sweet fruits and peppery smoke.
Palate: Huge flavour, bold and robust, spicy yet very smooth, easy drinking with a long body and creamy mouthfeel, peppery to start but finishes with apricot, and smoked butter.
